Free Online Family Calendar and Schedule – Cozi

Doctor’s appointments, soccer games, ballet classes; you are always on the run!  Cozi to the rescue! 

Cozi is not only a free online family calendar, it also offers shopping and to do lists.  You can also create a family journal to keep track of important milestones.

Family Calendar

The family calendar can be color coded for each individual family member.  Each member has their own color so you can see, at a glance, who needs to be where and when.  Everything from doctor’s appointments, play dates, and extra curricular activities.  (The only thing I didn’t like about this feature was that if you had too many items in a day, it became too jumbled.  But, you can change views from today, day, week, or month –which helps.)

To Do Lists

Cozi’s To Do Lists can be a tremendous help when divvying out items that need to get done.  Create daily lists, Honey-Do lists, event planning lists, and even holiday dinner planning to do lists.  New lists can be created and assigned to a particular family member.  Lists can be printed or sent to a cell phone, which is a big convenience when everyone is always on the run!  (Drawback to this, for me, was that you could assign lists, but not individual tasks.  If you were making a holiday dinner list, for example, you couldn’t assign a dish to someone else in the family.  If this were added, their To Do Lists would be INCREDIBLE!)

Shopping Lists

Who doesn’t use a shopping list?  With Cozi’s shopping lists, you can create new lists for each store you need to go to, even for holiday shopping.   As with their To Do Lists, Cozi’s Shopping Lists can be sent to cell phone numbers for convenience or printed out.  (Their shopping lists are simple lists, nothing separated by aisle or type of product.)

Extras

In addition to all the cool scheduling and planning tools, Cozi also has a few added conveniences. 

• You can register all the cell phones in your family so that assignments, appointments, and reminders can be sent to the correct individuals.
• Mobile Access – Cozi Apps are available for both the iPhone and Android.  Simple access to your Cozi account directly from your phone!  Both versions are free (with ads), but you can purchase the ad-free apps as well.
• Family Journal – Simple, easy to use family website.  Post photos and type notes about your family’s happenings to keep track of those special moments.

Overall Usefulness

I think, if you are looking for a one stop family organizational and scheduling venue, Cozi is definitely a place you want to check out.  I’ve mentioned a few issues I have with the features in this post, most of them minor, overall I think this web site is one of the best, and FREE, places to keep everyone in the family on the same schedule.
