I was recently asked to do a review of a fitness app called Crossfit WOD Programmer. Now, I like to review apps I use and can somewhat report on. That being the case, and since I’m not a very fit person right now I reached out to a personal trainer friend of mine, Kirk Waidell. I met Kirk through a mutual friend of ours and I’ve always been impressed with his story. He completely transformed his body and his life and strives to help others do the same. Lucky for me, he was happy to write the review for me. If you are a fitness buff or interested in Crossfit, be sure to check this review out. You can read more about Kirk’s story here and keep up to date on his blog here. Thanks Kirk! ~Tina
I am always looking for apps that will help me build my fitness repertoire and jumped at the opportunity to review this app for Tina. The app is named the Crossfit WOD Programmer (iPhone). Now, I am not a Crossfit member, however, Crossfit has become one of the top names in fitness today, and I was anxious to see how this app stacks up.
The app is very user friendly, and it took me less than 5 minutes to program a month worth of Crossfit workouts. The customization of the workout is simple, and can be done fairly easily, even if you are a Crossfit novice. Some of the great features this app provides is customization. You can easily modify your workout by the equipment available to you.
Other great features to this app include, training days, priorities and schemes.
Now, if you are new to the word of Crossfit, these terms may seem foreign to you, I highly suggest you google any terminology you are unfamiliar with. Other handy features that come with this app are a journal, to keep track of all personal records as well as other pertinent information for your workouts.
There is also a timer that can be customized for interval or tabata training as well as other timed training. And last but not least, there is access to video demonstration for any exercises you are not familiar with.
Overall this is an excellent app for Crossfit enthusiasts as well as your average fitness buff. It provides everything you need to have an incredible workout. It certainly is worth the $2.99 price tag, and I know I have got some great use out of the app, and will for the foreseeable future. This app is also available for Android phones for $1.99.
