Country music artist Jason Aldean's wife, Brittany Aldean, found herself at the center of a controversy when she posted a caption on one of her Instagram videos that has been deemed anti-car. 

She said that she wanted to thank her parents for not changing her gender during her "shell" phase and that she loves being a girl. The 34-year-old shared a picture of the make-up on Instagram on August 24.

How many states passed the bill?

Her comments come amid ongoing efforts and debate surrounding restrictions on minors' access to gender-affirming care. At least 13 states in the United States of America have signed anti-LGBTQ legislation into effect. Another 23 states have introduced similar bills.

Many laws target gender-affirming care and transgender youth. As soon as Jason Aldean's wife shared a captioned video, many musicians took to social media with harsh comments. Cassady Pope took to Instagram and Twitter and gave her response without tagging Brittany.

American singer-songwriter Cassady Pope said she thinks people with beauty brands should see the benefits of LGBTQ+ inclusion in their brand messages. She referenced Xo Britt, Brittany Aldean's line of hair extensions. She added that instead we saw someone comparing a person who wants to go into a tomboy phase; how wonderful! (sarcasm much?)

The anti-transportation message led to a spat on social media, with people from both sides making nasty comments to humiliate each other.
