Social media star-turned-boxer Jake Paul has apparently set his sights on a legendary rival.

According to multiple reports, Paul is set to fight former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva on October 29. The understanding was first announced by No Smoke Boxing, referring to anonymous sources, and later affirmed by TMZ and MMA Fighting.

Boxing against Silva would be an intriguing matchup for the 25-year-old Paul, who was scheduled to fight Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6. This bout fell through as Rahman failed to make weight, leading Paul to claim that Rahman was afraid to fight him.

In December 2021, Paul (5–0) recently fought former UFC middleweight champion Tyron Woodley, winning by sixth round knockout.

Silva, 47, was the UFC middleweight champion from 2006-13. Since returning to the boxing ring in 2021, he is 2-0 with wins over former MMA star Tito Ortiz and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The venue of the fight has not been announced. Paul's Most Valuable Promotions said an official announcement will be made next week.
